What devices are supported?

Any iPhone, iPad, and Mac running iOS 26+ or macOS 26+. Self-organizing features are only available if Apple Intelligence is enabled.

What is the Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration?

MCP allows AI assistants like LM Studio to access your notes locally without an Internet connection.

What about AI assistants like Claude or ChatGPT?

Though these desktop clients might support MCP, they do not support Truly Notable's local network server (this is due to App Store limitations). However, I provide a free and open source HTTP to STDIO bridge that enables support for apps like Claude Desktop. Learn more about the bridge. Note: when using clients like Claude or ChatGPT, you are providing your personal data to these services and that will be covered by their privacy policies.

Will there be a subscription fee?

Pricing details will be announced closer to launch. My goal is to provide a sustainable, privacy-focused alternative to subscription-heavy note-taking apps.

Can I export my notes?

Yes, you'll have full control over your data with export capabilities. Since everything is stored locally, you can also access your notes through the app's database if needed.

Zero collection of: Note content, AI metadata, personal information, usage analytics, location data, or behavioral patterns.

How It Works

On-Device Processing: Apple's Foundation Models run locally. No internet required. No data sent to external services. Apple cannot access your content.

iCloud Sync: Optional. End-to-end encrypted. Managed by Apple—I cannot decrypt. Disable anytime in settings.

MCP Server (macOS): Runs localhost only. User-controlled access. Disable anytime. Cannot accept external connections.

Service Availability

Operates primarily offline. Cannot guarantee availability of Apple's Foundation Models, CloudKit sync, or App Store updates.

Limitation of Liability

Not liable for data loss from device failure or user error. Recommend regular Apple backups.
